Dog Portraits, Willow, Gypsy and Zac

Apologies for my lack of updates lately, other things have taken over somewhat but I am getting back to portraits! This is where I've got to with the dog portraits of Willow, Gypsy and Zac. Willow now has almost got legs and Gypsy needs her feet worked on some more. Other than that I have started the background, this could be a long job, I may have to put it away soon as commission deadlines are looming, I had thought I would get this finished pretty soon as it was Ronnie's birthday present!

And for anyone thinking of Cyril, here he is, almost on solids now. He eats hazelnuts, maize and a few peanuts and his favourite are grapes but he is still drinking milk every now and then. Soon he will have to be released but he is a little too tame so I am going to take him to a rescue centre where they can prep him ready for the big outdoors! I've raided all of the hamster toys and he has a wheel which he can just fit into to race in, a bridge which is his favourite, some branches to climb across which he keeps chewing through, and best of all he uses the hamster ball so he can roll around the floor for exercise. He's almost got the hang of it but keeps jumping in it and banging his head until he gets into a grove and rolls off into the sunset across the carpet!

Wow, you've gotten a lot done on your pups! Can't wait to see more of the background you're putting in. And what a cute little guy your Cyril is!

Just a heads up, that when I loaded your blog page (twice) all I got at the top were boxes with blue question marks. It may just be my system, but I wanted to mention it. ~ L

Hi Laure, the background is based on our grape vine, we have two, one white grapes, one black grapes and they grow up the side of our house. I love the leaves on them, plus they feed our ornamental pheasants with a special treat.

Willow, Gypsy and Zac are looking fantastic. Very tantalizing look at the background! Cyril is sooo cute. Surely you'll miss the little guy if he has to go to a rescue centre? But then, he is a wild animal I guess.

Very nice job well done - detailed and realistic paintings are very difficult.

You've done a very good job raising the little critter. His face just begs to be drawn. Looking forward to the finish of your 3 babies.

What a beautiful trio in your pet portrait! And I'd have a hard time giving up the squirrel. I'd want to keep him as a pet! Dors pointed me to your blog, and I'm glad she did. You do wonderful work!
