Wildlife Pictures and squirrel news
And so it was we were just in the right place at the right time with this little group of deer. Deer are in large numbers in the Forest of Dean but usually our sightings are restricted to when we are moving in the truck or as they flash by us when we disturb them by working deep in the woods far from the beaten tracks where most people never walk. We had just turned a corner with these and I had actually been fiddling with my camera so it was out of the bag, lens on and at the ready to catch them on film!
Also...squirrel news....
Remember Cryil the squirrel. Well quite a while ago Cyril went to live with Shizzle up in Hereford. Cyril then decided enough was enough, he didn't need anyone looking after him and he decided to go it alone, well, Shizzle's adoptive Mum is now expecting her own little boy and she has decided Shizzle would like to live in my chestnut tree. She came to visit last weekend and is more tha happy that he can come down here to live.
We alsready have a drey of 3 quirrels living at the very top of the tree and we are hoping Shizzle will meet and greet them however we may yet leave him in the barn for a few days to let him settle or maybe just hang his designer handbag from the chestnut tree to help him feel more at home. Anyway, I've charged all cameras and I hope to take some pics of his release tomorrow for you all to see. If it's anything like Cyril's original attempted release I'm sure he'll just sit still with shock and won't actually move away.
Anyway regardless of how he is released the fact remains he really wouldn't be here at all if it wasn't for his caring adoptive Mum.
