German Shepherd Pet Portrait
Just a bit further on in terms of coverage but a lot of work on this german shepherd pet portrait. Arthur's chest area is particularly fluffy and it took some doing to recreate the texture without the luxury of layering, plus Macey now has one leg so she's almost stable! Don't forget you should be able to click on any image to see it in further detail, this may allow you to see the amount of pencil work that was required to 'semi' complete Arthur's chest area.
And just because she hasn't appeared for a while, I'd like to you to see how clever Willow is at twisting my arm to get a game of football, first she fetches her ball and waits patiently, she stares at me to get my attention, she's quite keen here....
...next due to a lack of interest on my part she pretends to sulk for sympathy, don't be fooled, if I so much as move a foot she's up trotting around her ball ready for the eagerly awaited kick...
...so next she goes for the direct approach and drops the ball at my feet and does the 'please feel sorry for me and play' look, and guess what...it worked, she got her game of football!
If you like my work please take the time to leave me a comment or become a follower (see bottom of page). If you would like to win a pet portrait of your dog, cat, horse or any other pet please see my new competition. It costs nothing to enter, all you require is internet access. the portrait is coming along nicely.....oooo I'm looking forward to the equine portraits.
Willow is a bright one. Who CAN resist that sweetheart!
Thanks Sheila, Willow is a bit of a show stopper, we take her to lots of steam rallies and today was no exception, she has taken to lightly nudging people on the leg now so they turn around to give her a fuss! Cheeky madam, she spotted a lady tying shoe laces today and Willow just had to give her a kiss! Luckily no one takes offence and she gets lots of fussing as a result!
This is going to be a beautiful portrait! Love the fur!! My last GS was crazy about playing with soccer balls and tennis balls. My current fellow isn't. But then again he doesn't like fetching sticks either. I kind of like the reprieve from having chewed wet tennis balls being dropped in my lap! :-)
This is coming along so well Kari, great deatil in the fur.
I love Willow, reading about her antics always make me smile.
The Shepherd portraits are so beautiful!
Your pictures of Willow reminds me of my dearly deceased Shadow...an exceptionally smart Belgian. My kids used to say she was "scary smart" because she would tease and make up games like a human. Your Willow seems to have that same quality! Thank you for sharing her with us!
I knew dogs were smart and Willow is living proof! And your portrait is looking exceptional - the character in those faces ... brilliant!
oh yes Liz, Willow is pretty clever at getting her own way with football, that ball (or one of three she has now) goes everywhere with her, we have to put it in the back of the van on the way to work as well now! Talk about obsessed with footie!
