Dog Portraits, Badger

A little update for Badger's dog portrait. I've added more shadows and have began to add the grass highlights.

A couple of close ups of Badger.

And I also visited Cyril today, and things are looking up. He's back to his happy little self, he was playing with his toys in the pen although he and Shizzle are not best friends, they have a little squabble and then forget they've fallen out.

So here he is hanging about!

This actually Shizzle, I did try to photograph them together and the shot above was as good as it got! You can just see Cyril's feet in the cargo net.

So I'm pleased to report Cyril is doing just fine and is on his way to freedom!!!

Badger is going to be fabulous! And Cyril is a real heart breaker. Have I already said I think he is cute? I hope you are goint to do his portrait!

Wow! Badger is looking wonderful!

Are you using pastel pencils? If not, how do you get that white white (like on his forehead?). I had such a difficult time getting a true white on my first colored support that I finally resorted to white gouache!

I'm missing Cyril so much Sally, he really is a cutie, and he hasn't forgotten me yet, when I visit he sits on my shoulder and leans against my cheek. I'm considering squirrel napping to get him back!

Hi Teresa, these are derwent coloursoft pencils, the white was a layer of white grey and then white on the top to fill in the area, the white is really bright in this range.
