Dog Portrait, Patch

I've restarted the pet portrait of Patch using the new images Emily has sent, this has made the portrait so much easier as I can see all the details and fur directions without having to guess and it is now a pleasure to continue with this dog portrait of the lovely Patch.

And here is the new image, you can see the difference from the one in the slideshow at the top! I have many many more layers to add so it's quite bland looking at the moment but Patch will appear on the page as each day passes.
On the home front Willow is in very bad books today, I heard a commotion in the garden, lots of chickens making a lot of noise and found Willow chasing a hen so she is banished to her basket without bedtime biscuits. Luckily, said hen was not caught or damaged, I'm not even sure that Willow wanted to catch the hen or was just playing chase as she does with Gypsy, nevertheless it's best not to find out.
As for my exciting life, today we fetched a sawbench on the back of a tractor from about half a mile away, it was the first official road use of any tractor, they usually just get driven around the garden and tomorrow I am off to a tractor jumble rumble thing, no doubt to buy lots of rusty bits of metal that fitted to a tractor about 50 years ago and are obviously being sold to some daft wally that thinks they are worth something (Ronnie). We came back with about 10 nest boxes for hens last year from the same auction!!!!
And here is a little video from work, these two does walked across the forestry track in front of us in an area called the Bark Rack. They paid us no attention whatsoever and just wandered along in their own time.

Oh yes, the new photo is MUCH better! Patch looked like a sweetheart of a dog.
I love to watch deer. We live in farm country and so have many deer in the area, but yours are different than what we have here, correct? (We have Whitetail Deer). Are those called Red Deer?
Hi Kath, we have mainly fallow deer here in the Forest of Dean plus some muntjack which are very small. I have almost fallen over a muntjack which was in some bramble I waded through but it just ran 10 yards to the next bit of bramble so are easy to keep track of once found but they are a very small population.
Fallow deer are so pretty, I would love to see them walking around in the woods like that. I had to google muntjack to check them out, very interesting little creatures. :-)
Muntjack are very odd looking little things Kathleen, they really are quite small too, in a national paper a few years ago a story reported one was hit by a car, the driver was unaware and continued on a long journey but on reaching the destination found the little muntjack stuck in the grill at the front of the car unharmed! One way of getting free transport I suppose!
