CALL FOR ENTRIES FOR WILDLIFE ART COMPETITION

WILDLIFE COMPETITION
I am holding a wildlife art competition, I am looking for wildlife images to use as a reference for my work as a wildlife artist (there aren't many tigers or lions in my garden) so am hoping some of you out there may have some holiday snaps or zoo pics you've snapped in the past that you would allow me to use. Please visit here to see the rules and you could win your image as a signed limited edition print to keep.
Deadline: 30th April 2009 so get digging out those long lost snaps!
Email your chosen images to pencilportraits@rock.com including your name and a postal address should you win.
GOOD LUCK EVERYONE!

If you like my work please take the time to leave me a comment or become a follower (see bottom of page). If you would like to win a pet portrait of your dog, cat, horse or any other pet please see my new competition. It costs nothing to enter, all you require is internet access.
If you are interested in commissioning me please visit my pet portrait artist website or my wildlife artist website
Thanks for visiting!

Wow, what a fantastic idea! I've been wanting to move in that direction too and wondered how I would get my hands on copyright-free wildlife images. Perhaps in the future, I might steal your idea had have my own competition (if that's ok with you!!).

No problem Heather, I did a pet portrait competition before and got a fantastic response but as you've said it is just so difficult to get hold of those images!!!

Is a roadrunner wild enough for you? I have one that is really up close and personal.

Absolutely fine, can't wait to see it Jeanne!

Great idea. Maybe I can find something for you from the great southwest! We have lots of critters running around here.

Yes please, that would be great!

Hi Karie, Thanks for visiting my blog. Your work is fantastic. I don't get out too much anymore because of my disability, but my friend Dors recently went to the zoo. She is a follower on my blog and I am sure if you contacted her she would be very happy to help you with a couple of shots she took.
Hugs,
Maria

I must have a search through all my horse photo's from our trip to the New Forest, and my Colchester Zoo photo's from the zoo up the road.... :) How about an ocelot or a fossa?

Hi Karie,
As I prefer to work from my own reference photos and love photography, I've built up a nice collection of animal photos (horses, farm animals, wildlife, zoo animals) so if you're after something in particular, just ask I might be able to help.
Keep up the good work! Cheers Sandra :o)

Karie, thank you for visiting my blog and for your kind words. (I stole that from Mona, but it is heartfelt!) Congrats on your gallery appointment. I enjoy your work, and I'm sure you will do well! Now, if only I had tigers in my backyard and a talent for photography, I'd enter this contest!
